Hi everyone, my name is Carla Wheeler and I am the author and founder of Career Woman Promoted to Mommy. Thank you for stopping by to visit. I hope I can help you in some way.
I am a true southern belle, born and raised in South Carolina, with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of SC (GO GAMECOCKS) working in the Nuclear
Industry. I am also an entrepreneur and I am building a business. I have partnered with a Skincare Company to help people solve their skin issues, see my Skincare Solutions Page for more details. I also like to do crafts and paint. I enjoy being outside, animals and spending time with my family. I love to travel and Spain is my favorite country to visit.
I live in Lexington, SC with my almost 2 year old daughter, my husband of 6 years, and my Persian cat. I work full time for Westinghouse and in the evenings I play the roles of mommy and wife. I spend an hour each day on self development, and I squeeze my additional businesses into the nooks and crannies of my life when I have time. I have always wanted to have a blog and now I do!
I have been a career woman for over 15 years and I have been working with Westinghouse for over 10 years. In 2013, my world changed when my husband and I found out we were pregnant after 4 years of marriage. I always thought I would be a good mommy, but not only did I think I may never get the chance, I also never knew that the job of “mommy” could be better than being a career woman.
As a mommy in her 30s, I was clueless where to begin when it came to planning for a baby. Being someone who needs a plan and logistics in place to move forward, I found myself in an unfamiliar place filled with huge superstores of products for every thing imaginable. Did I need ALL of these things? How would I ever navigate this unfamiliar territory? I made a lot of mistakes and returned and exchanged many products, but I developed a list of products, solutions, ideas, and tips for having a baby and have continued this list from newborn to almost 2 years of age. I have shared information over and over with family and friends having babies, and I thought maybe I could help the world of career mom’s by sharing some of it here, under the tab, Favorite Things.
I hope to share my experiences, tips and tricks and resources for moms like me. I also plan to share self development techniques and offer advice for those who have experienced similar situations. I hope you will find this website and my blog helpful. Thank you for stopping by to visit and come again soon!
